The Expert Symposium and New Expert Appointment Ceremony of the Hengqin Federation for Protection of Intellectual Property (HFPIP), hosted by the Hengqin New Area Administration for Industry and Commerce, were held at the Hengqin Changlong Convention and Exhibition Center on December 14, 2020.
More than 70 people including 12 intellectual property experts from the Mainland and Macau, representatives of HFPIP members, representatives of provincial and municipal intellectual property related departments, and representatives of relevant industry associations participated in the conference.
HFPIP has newly appointed four experts in the field of intellectual property with rich experience, two of which are lawyer Nuno Sardinha da Mata (馬天龍) and lawyer João Gonçalves Assunção （宋哲言）from C&C Law Lawyers;
HFPIP newly recruited six members from Macau, including C&C Lawyers and IPSOL Intellectual Property Agency Limited.
HFPIP has grown to 144 members, including 37 from Hong Kong and Macau; 16 experts have been appointed, including seven experts from Hong Kong and Macau.
Kang Hong, deputy director of the Hengqin New District Management Committee, delivered a speech. Gou Bing, director of Hengqin New Area Administration for Industry and Commerce, the chairman of HFPIP, reported on the work of HFPIP in 2020.
Experts from the HFPIP provided advice and suggestions on how Hengqin can take geographical advantage to deepen further the work of intellectual property registration, cultivation, application and trading, protection, and legal support; establish and improve the Henqing-Macau intellectual property field rules and the integration of two systems.
