Congratulations to Mr Zhao Lu, Senior Partner of C&C Lawyers, for being again entrusted by the Ministry of Justice of the People’s Republic of China as a China-Appointed Attesting Officer (Macau).
According to regulations in Mainland China, any official documents produced in the Macau SAR must go through relevant certification procedures. The documents should be notarized by a China-Appointed Notary (Macau) and verified with a seal by the China Legal Services (Macau) Company before they can be used in Mainland China.
Mr Zhao Lu has been a Chinese Notary for more than 16 years – since 2005 – and he was one of the first Notaries in the Macao SAR to be appointed by the Ministry of Justice of China.
When a party provides official documentary evidence created outside of China’s territory, it must be certified by a Notary office of the country where the evidence comes from, or follow certification procedures as set forth in the relevant treaty established between the People’s Republic of China and the respective country.
For relationship status documentary evidence created outside the territory of the People’s Republic of China, the documents must be certified by a Notary Office of the country where the evidence comes from and authenticated by the local embassy or consulate of the People’s Republic of China. Alternatively, certification procedures as set forth in the relevant treaty established between the People’s Republic of China and the respective country should be followed.
If the documentary evidence provided by a party to the People’s Court is created in Hong Kong, Macau, or Taiwan, the relevant certification procedures shall be followed.
